SkinMedica HA5 Hydra Collagen Hydrator with Vegan Collagen

Because of new design and formulation, I am not sure this is the same product.

This product was my favorite. Their new formula is nothing like the old. It smells like algae, leaves a tacky film, and is just awful!
I tried using it for a week hoping it would grow on me, sadly it did not. I wish I would have bought more stock of the old version/formula. The new is just plain awful!

Use it everyday

I’ve been using the SkinMedica HA5 Hydra Collagen Hydrator with Vegan Collagen for a while now, and it has truly become one of my staple skincare products.

The texture is silky and lightweight, and it absorbs quickly without feeling sticky or heavy. Almost immediately after applying, my skin feels noticeably more hydrated, smooth, and plump. It gives that “dewy” look without being greasy, which I love—especially living in a dry climate.

What really stands out is how well it supports overall skin hydration. With consistent use, my skin looks healthier, and fine lines appear softer. The formula with multiple forms of hyaluronic acid and vegan collagen really seems to help maintain moisture throughout the day. According to the brand, it can provide hydration for up to 48 hours and help improve the skin barrier, which definitely aligns with my experience. 

I also appreciate that it layers well with other products like vitamin C and sunscreen and doesn’t pill.

The only downside is the price—it’s definitely an investment. But for me, the results justify it, especially if you’re looking for a high-quality, medical-grade hydrator.

Overall: If you struggle with dry or dehydrated skin and want something that delivers both instant and long-term hydration, this is absolutely worth trying.

I don’t like this as it’s a little oily compsred to the old HA5. The old one was not greasy at all which is what I like. The new one my face is shiny after 30 min. Ugh
